A Report on the participation of the East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defenders Network at the NGO Forum, and the 41st Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, Accra Ghana, 12th- 21st May, 2007

On various occasions during the deliberations at the Forum, the Network’s concerns for Human Rights Defenders within the sub-region were highlighted. These included the Network’s Report to the Forum on the situation of human rights in the sub-region, that was distributed to all members at the Forum (Ref. EHAHRDN Index: UGA 012/008/2007 (Public), among others. The statement was also widely distributed to the Network’s international contacts, including the media. Subsequently, the Chairperson held an interview with the Voice of America, elaborating on the issues affecting HRDs in the sub-region. (See link to interview)
