Human Rights Education Associates (HREA) will be offering the e-learning course Use of ICTs and Social Media for Human Rights Work again
from 1 February-17 April 2012. This e-learning course is intended for
staff members of human rights and social justice NGOs and
inter-governmental organisations who are responsible for information and
communication (i.e. information officers, web editors, communication
specialists) within their organisation. Information and communication
technologies (ICTs) and social media are a dynamic field where success
is dependent upon skill development and practical experience.
Participants will be introduced to proven methods of using ICTs and
social media to promote their human rights work. They will become
equipped with the knowledge and tools to more effectively design and
implement web sites, databases, social media like Facebook and Twitter
or multi-media for advocacy campaigns, training and information
management.

Week 2: Assessment of use of ICTs and social media in participants’ organisations
