International NGOs
SendNon-Governmental Organisations in Human Rights perform an important role in favour of defenders.
A few of them are specialised (or have a special Unit) in the assistance provided to defenders: campaigns, urgent actions, advocacy, training in the use of regional and international mechanisms, procedure in the case of exile, grants, security measures financing,
In security matters, Peace Brigades International has been present in diverse regions and contributes for the protection of defenders in the field for the past 25 years. PBI does not finance other organisations but runs security management workshops. In certain circumstances PBI can also respond to accompaniment requests which defenders submit and send a team of international observers to the field.
