Interview with Hassan Shire Sheikh

Hassan Shire Sheikh, Human Rights Defender from Somalia, is the Coordinator of the East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defenders Project (EHAHRDP). The project is reporting on the situation of defenders and providing also concrete help to defenders from Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia (including Somaliland), Sudan and South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

Hassan Shire Sheikh is also Chairperson of the East and Horn of Africa Human Rights Defenders Network (EHAHRDN), which currently includes 65 human rights defenders organizations and seeks to strengthen their work by reducing their vulnerability to the risk of persecution and by enhancing their capacity to effectively defend human rights.
