

Members of Parliament have an essential role to play in the protection of Human Rights Defenders. They can observe the implementation of the responsibilities of the States to protect Human Rights Defenders and request more protection activities from their government represented by the embassies in Third Countries. They can also become involved in field operations in support of Human Rights Defenders in danger.
