Iria and her community had lived their whole lives in Santa Rosa de Guayacán, along the Calima river near to the Pacific Ocean. A year ago they had to flee their reservation. Official statistics report that between 2005 and 2010 more than 52,000 persons belonging to indigenous communities were displaced. The Constitutional Court of Colombia has found that indigenous women face a triple discrimination for being women, displaced, and for pertaining to an ethnic group.
